The cost of a tattoo depends on several variables such as the size, complexity and location in which it is placed on the body. The shop minimum is $60 and we average $100/hour or more. Keep in mind that a tattoo is permanent and it is not ideal to cut costs. Our costs reflect the quality of our work.
For the best results, it is imperative to follow an aftercare routine. Following every procedure, you will be sent home with an aftercare instructions sheet as well as verbal instructions. This sheet may also be viewed under our "forms & policies" page.
You've spent the money on some fresh ink, so, be sure to ask your artist about the products we offer and reccommend to keep your tattoo looking new!
The legal age to get a tattoo varies by state. In Florida, a person may not tattoo the body of a minor child who is at least 16 years of age, but younger than 18 years of age, unless:
The minor child is accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian;
The minor child and his or her parent or legal guardian each submit proof of his or her identity by producing a government-issued photo identification;
(The parent or legal guardian submits his or her written notarized consent in the format prescribed by the department;
The parent or legal guardian submits proof that he or she is the parent or legal guardian of the minor child; and
The tattooing is performed by a tattoo artist or guest tattoo artist licensed under ss. 381.00771-381.00791 or a person licensed to practice medicine or dentistry under chapter 458, chapter 459, or chapter 466
On average, a tattoo takes about 2 to 4 weeks to heal on the surface. However, full healing below the skin can take up to 6 months.
During the first few weeks, it’s normal to experience some peeling, itching, and slight scabbing. Proper aftercare—including keeping the tattoo clean, moisturized, and protected from the sun—is key to a smooth healing process and long-lasting results.
If you ever notice unusual redness, swelling, or discharge, contact your artist or a medical professional, as these could be signs of infection.
Yes, we do! At Voiced by Design, consultations are highly encouraged—especially for custom pieces, larger tattoos, or if you have specific ideas you’d like to discuss with your artist.
Consultations give us a chance to go over your design, placement, pricing, and any questions you may have. They help ensure we're all on the same page before your appointment.
You can schedule a consultation by messaging us directly or stopping by the shop or even directly through the booking link!
Yes, we do offer cover-up tattoos! Our experienced artists will work with you to design a piece that not only covers the old tattoo but transforms it into something you're proud to wear.
Keep in mind, not all tattoos can be fully covered without adjustments. That’s why we recommend scheduling a consultation, so we can assess the existing tattoo, discuss your goals, and come up with the best approach for a successful cover-up.
When coming in for your tattoo or piercing appointment, please bring the following:

Payment – We accept credit cards and cash. We have an ATM on site.
A friend for support? Sure—but please limit guests to one person if possible.
A good meal beforehand – Arriving with low blood sugar can cause dizziness or fainting, so eat a solid meal and stay hydrated.
If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to message us before your appointment!
Pain is subjective—everyone experiences it differently—but most people describe piercing pain as quick and manageable. The sensation typically lasts only a few seconds, followed by some minor soreness or pressure afterward.
At Voiced by Design, Maverick, our professional piercer, uses clean techniques and precise tools to make the process as quick and comfortable as possible. We’ll walk you through everything and make sure you feel at ease before, during, and after your piercing.
If you’re nervous, don’t worry—that’s completely normal, and we’ve got you covered!
Yes, we do offer touch-ups! At Voiced by Design, we’re committed to making sure your tattoo heals well and looks exactly how it should.
Most initial touch-ups are free within a typical time frame (usually 4–8 weeks after your tattoo), but we understand every situation is different. In some cases, we may extend the free touch-up window depending on how the tattoo healed and at the discretion of your artist.
Be sure to follow all aftercare instructions, as damage caused by improper care may not qualify for a free touch-up.
If you think your tattoo needs one, just reach out to your artist or swing by the shop—we’re happy to take a look!
